Metro, tram, buses and cable cars
Algiers has one metro line, opened in 2011, from Place des Martyrs to El Harrach Centre with a branch to Aïn Naâdja: 19 stations and over 18 km (Wikipedia FR). A tram has served the eastern suburbs since 2011, ETUSA buses fill out the network and four cable cars link some districts (Wikipedia ES).
Taxis, trains and ferries
Taxis are plentiful; ride-hailing apps such as Yassir and Heetch reduce haggling. Most long-distance trains arrive at Agha station, and ferries connect Algiers with Marseille and Alicante (Wikivoyage EN). In the centre and the Casbah, walking remains the best mode.
